Stream Me Up was an installation commissioned by Microsoft Studio for SXSW '14. With the help of four Kinects, four Canon 5Ds, and a virtual reality headset, conference goers were given the opportunity to see a digital transmission of themselves on a series of far off planets. We collaborated with Technical Director James George to help develop the narrative of the overall experience, and provide Art Direction, design and 3D animation.
The project worked in two parts; to excite developers about the new Kinect Dev kit, and to create a social media buzz and draw a crowd to the Microsoft Studio. When users were done with the experience, it would generate an animated gif of their experience. It was a huge success.
